Ha! The game disappointed me too much  Cry

Well talk here when it gets close to coming out. Sportin a PC these days, so unlike when FFXI hit, this one I'll actually be able to play. Smiley
I played FFXI for at least a couple of years before it got too frustrating. The economy went to crap

I hope FFXIV is similar to FFXI but much improved Smiley

It would be fun to play with some of you guys again too.

You should give it a second try. They've improved on so many things. The world is about twice as large now. They've gone through Moria (Which is HUGE, like 5 zones all together) to Lothlorien, and now recently Mirkwood.

It would be fun to play with some of you guys again too.

The glorious return of The Band of the Hawk?  Cheesy

so, at the beginning of december i got a GameFly subscription.

in the month of december i rented maybe 10 games.  then, the most recent one came in at the beginning of january: Demon's Souls.  since then, i've logged well over 100 hours (and one of my roommates has logged an additional 40) but i just haven't been able to send it back, i'm still far too engrossed.  it's an amazing game.  by far my favorite console game, ever.

i think i'm gonna cancel GameFly and just buy Demon's Souls, the $25/month so far in 2010 has been nothing but a long Demon's Souls rental and i don't see myself playing any other game for at least a few more months so i might as well bite the bullet before spending any more on renting it.

it's really just an amazing piece of software

yeah, you can do single player, co-op, or PvP.  i would actually suggest playing single player until you've beaten it once -- co-op makes many parts of the game too easy, and to be successful in PvP you really need to know what you're doing.  the online play is great, but can spoil the adventure.  what i did, and what i definitely suggest everyone do, is just play through the game once in soul form (suicide in the nexus each time you revive).  then, once you've completed your epic adventure, play around with the neat online features (you can even still co-op if you want, in New Game+).

and try to stay away from reading too much about the game.  think of it as a big adventure.  walkthroughs & FAQs ruin adventure.
